AppCore Creator Is my submission for the CFBuilder contest by Raymond Camden. The Extension will be used to generate Core CF Application files which include Application.cfc, Error Handler and Missing Template handler files for ColdFusion MX 7, ColdFusion 8 and 9 versions. The extension performs file copy operation form extension location to the new location.

ColdFusion Builder comes with number of code assistance features, and one which is effective and handy is the code assist for included files. This feature will display the hints for the variables, methods, structures, and queries results, etc., which are defined in a page to the included page.

Code formatting is a nice utility to align codes with tabs for better readability. CF Builder by default includes an HTML Tidy Code Formatter which does the formatting of HTML codes perfectly. We can utilize this feature in HTML files by right clicking on the editor and selecting**“Run HTML Tidy”**.

Last week I have completed reading High Performance Web Sites by Steve Souders and published by O’Reilly. This book helps me learn about how to improve the website performance and its response time.

ColdFusion Builder joins the Family of Free RIA Tools from Adobe. After the release of ColdFusion Builder 1.0 version adobe makes it’s free for Education purposes. More details can be available at https://freeriatools.adobe.com/cfbuilder/.

ColdFusion Builder is available at the Adobe stores starting today. ColdFusion builder has been significantly improved in performance after the beta releases. I’ve been utilizing the beta versions and don’t think I will be using any other IDE for ColdFusion development. My favorite feature is developing Extensions using ColdFusion is absolutely an brilliant one.

The Chennai ColdFusion User Group is hosting its ColdFusion Builder Special Event on coming March 30, 2010. In this Event Dipanwita Sarkar from Adobe CF Builder team will be demonstrating the new features, extension/insight into the future of CF Builder. It is an excellent opportunity to learn more on the IDE from the team itself. This will be an Adobe Connect Meeting and more details are available at Chennai ColdFusion User Group site.

DZone just released the ColdFusion Builder Reference card by Adobe Platform Evangelist Terrence Ryan. This is a second refcard from DZone followed by ColdFusion 9 Reference card released on August 2009 written by the same author.

Auto-closing of tags is a nice feature to include in the editors. ColdFusion Builder provide to us some additional options on enabling/disabling the Auto-close tags feature as follows.
