ColdFusion 9: New Attributes in CFGrid

ColdFusion 9 introduces 4 new attributes in CFGrid tag. These attributes are great addition to CFGrid which allows us to expand or collapse the entire grid, we can group the rows in CFGrid by mentioning the group column name which generates a collapsible group of rows in the grid, we can insert a new row in the Grid and we can give a title to the entire CFGrid.

ColdFusion 9 shipped with lots of new features that include some new variables which are added to the Application.cfc file. One among them is the new application level SMTP server setting. We can specify the SMTP server setting details to "smtpServersettings" attribute of THIS scope in Application.cfc which takes three values and they are server, username and password as a structure.

Adobe ColdFusion 9 Released

Finally the wait is over for CF Community to grab ColdFusion 9. Yes Adobe announced the release of ColdFusion 9 and product is available for purchase. And also the ColdFusion Builder Beta 2 is released and available at Adobe Labs.

The UI Enhancement in ColdFusion 9 includes many new AJAX control tags and enhancement to the existing UI controls in ColdFusion 8. The AJAX controls in ColdFusion leverages the ExtJS 3.0 Library for to create Rich UI Controls. The new addition is Accordion navigation to CFLayout tag. The accordion is very useful for compressing many elements in a compacts space in our web sites. Using the below code we can create accordion navigation in ColdFusion very easily.

Aggregating ColdFusion 9 and ColdFusion Builder Tutorials

There are many ColdFusion 9 and ColdFusion Builder tutorials are hitting the blogosphere from the ColdFusion community after the release of ColdFusion 9 and ColdFusion Builder betas. Just to categorize these articles, blog post, tutorials of ColdFusion 9 and ColdFusion Builder beta I'm aggregating all the entries in my blog for CF community reference. I have created two sections in my blog one for ColdFusion 9 tutorials and another one for ColdFusion Builder tutorials. I don't know whether this will be helpful for the community but I'm putting this because someone like me will surely get benefit.

I welcome any suggestions, corrections and inputs form the Community on the aggregating entries.
